You can use only .wav file here. So convert your audio file to wav file first. Try to use small audio files
- Start -> Go to Control panel
- Select sound and audio devices tab
- Select sounds tab in that
- Click the Sound you want to change ( Here it is " start window" )
- Click browse at right corner of that box and select the sound you want.
- You can confirm it by playing the sound by pressing sound button near to the browse button
- Click apply and then ok
